The Althea Network by Da Honest Truth @blutruth was a different type of read for me, but I ended up enjoying it so much.
One of the first things that caught my attention was the chapter titles. I’m creative with chapter titles too, so I immediately appreciated seeing names like Pearl Harbor, Nazi Germany, Harlem Renaissance, and even 2 Live Crew. That detail made the book feel bold and intentional before I even got deep into the story.
The preface also does a good job of preparing readers for the fact that there will likely be triggering content. That did not bother me, but I appreciated that the book gave that heads-up early. From there, the story pulls you into a unique premise involving missing students, Latin, history, and a portal that opens the door to the past.
What worked for me was how imaginative the book felt. It blends campus mystery, historical moments, adventure, and group dynamics in a way that kept the story moving.
